FEU downs UST in Jumbo caging

MANILA, Philippines - Far Eastern University drew big games from Kenji Roman and JJ Sapinit as it thwarted University of Santo Tomas, 63-58, to bolster its semis bid in the second PCABL Jumbo Plastic Linoleum Cup at the Philippine Buddhacare Academy gym in Quezon City last Sunday.

Roman dominated the paint and went on to post another double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds and gain the Jumbo Plastic Player of the Game.

Sapinit backed him up with 11 markers as FEU pulled through in the stretch to tie defending champion Chiang Kai Shek College for third at 4-2.

University of the Philippines Integrated School drubbed Letran-B, 112-51, to muddle up the semis race in the event also backed bySmart Telecom, Advance Solutions Inc., Hapee Toothpaste, Fed Seal, Powerhouse, CW Home Depot and Powerbest Marketing.

With Allane Barles and Javy De Liano (Jumbo Player of the Game) on the firing end, the Junior Maroons pulled away at 36-11 lead in the first quarter and went unassailably ahead by 44 points at halftime (65-21).
