MANILA, Philippines - For the past four years, Recreational Outdoor eXchange (R.O.X.) has beeen actively promoting the emerging sport of biking through a series of fun and educational activities.
R.O.X. has been holding its highly anticipated Bike Fair, which showcases various activities lined up for a whole month that promotes the sport andl likewise nurtures the community.
This year is no different as R.O.X.’s Bike Fair returns to take things to a whole new level as it adds more exciting events and activities to its month-long biking affair.
Held July 15-Aug. 16, the Bike Fair featured a roster of educational and recreational activities throughout different parts of the country, including special sales, biking events, and a bike donation drive.
Apart from being the usual friendly competition which gathers bikers from all corners of the metro in celebration of their mutual love for the sport, this year’s Bike Fair also served as platform that gathered biking enthusiasts to collectively give back and empower the community through the fourth Bike For A Cause event, which was held during the last Sunday of the month-long event at Marquee Mall, Pampanga.
From merely having 200 registered participants, this year’s Bike For A Cause had over 1,000 registered participants who all came together to ride it out for a good cause.
In the past, R.O.X. was able to donate five units of bike racks to the Pampanga High School in 2013 and 2014, and this year, with the aid of Bikes for the Philippines, R.O.X. turned over three bike racks to Concepcion Integrated School in San Simon, Pampanga.
At the event, Naszer Yco and Joel Uichico of Bikes for the Philippines personally presented the donation to the beneficiaries of the bike racks. Also, special prizes such as the “Most Unique Bike”, and “Most Number of Riders in a Group”, were also announced during the event alongside the turn-over of the donation drive to Bikes for the Philippines.
Organizers said the R.O.X. Bike Fair 2015 was another outstanding success, attracting a huge turnout from the biking community as well as the support of bloggers and friends from the media.
Most importantly, it was able to serve the purpose of being a powerful instrument in nurturing the growth of the biking community as well as in promoting the sport to a greater audience.
The 2015 Bike For A Cause event is presented by R.O.X. Recreational Outdoor eXchange in cooperation with Marquee Mall, Primer Group of Companies, Fox, Osprey, Timbuk2, Dahon, Felt Bicycle, Tern, Bickerton and Biologic and organized by Hubble Multisports.
