MetroTurf looks to brighter future
MANILA, Philippines - MetroTurf, the country’s and Asia’s newest racetrack in Malvar-Tanauan, Batangas, is out to sustain its gains in sales in its twice-a-week racing operation and at the same time expand through land developments to cater to the needs of the fast-developing Calabarzon area.
“This is very good news to all our supporters and also to the racing fans who have been helping us build the name of the MetroTurf. We are No. 2 in terms of sales from our racing operation because of the exciting races held here twice a week,” said MMTCI chairman and president Dr. Norberto Quisumbing Jr. “We would like to thank the racing fans and also the various sectors of the industry for their continued support since we started in 2013.”
Now on its third year of operation, the home of the Metro Manila Turf Club is enjoying good sales from its twice-a-week racing operation through the continued support from all sectors of the horseracing industry.
A number of land developments is also set to be implemented in various parts of the sprawling 50-hectare lot near the foot of the famous Mt. Makiling.
Dr. Quisumbing also said that a number of land developments will be implemented in several parts of MetroTurf.
“We have already identified the various developments we intend to implement soon in order to make full use of the idle lands we have inside MetroTurf. Our supporters should be assured that we are continuing non-stop in upgrading our facilities and services,” he said.
More than 1,000 horses are already stabled in its complex and many more are lining up to have their base there because of the very cool weather throughout the year. Various major stakes races are also lined up until December and the cozy clubhouse and the spacious grandstand are being set up to serve as venues to various social events in the coming months.
