MANILA, Philippines -- The Gilas Pilipinas national pool arrived in Tallinn City on Tuesday afternoon there after a tiring 11-hour trip to Turkey, six-hour layover and another three-hour plane trip to get to Estonia's capital.
Some of the players immediately went to check out the venue, Saku Suurhall Arena, where the pocket tournament will be held.
Veterans Jimmy Alapag and Dondon Hontiveros along with Asi Taulava and assistant coach Alex Compton went for a light shootaround to fight off jet lag and get a feel of the venue.

They will have one day of practice Wednesday before the pocket tournament begins starting against Netherlands on Thursday. Gilas will have a one-day break before taking on Estonia and Iceland in back-to-back schedule, just nine hours apart, on Saturday.
Some of the Gilas players went out to check the old town of Tallinn while others quickly took their phones and made a video call to their families back home.
