Ardina settles for 12th at Mason

MANILA, Philippines - Dottie Ardina missed gaining a Top 10 finish with a double-bogey on the 16th, ending up 12th with a 70 in the $110,000 W.B. Mason Championship won by American Vicky Hurst at the Thorny Lea Golf Club in Brockton, Massachusetts Sunday.

Ardina, who led the 54-hole tournament with a solid 66 in the first round but faltered wit a 71 Saturday, tried to rally with two birdies in the first 12 holes but dropped two strokes on the par-4 No. 16, costing her a spot in the top 10.

She birdied the 18th to salvage a 70 but her 207 aggregate was good for 12th place worth $2,051.

The mediocre finish likewise stalled Ardina’s charge for a top 10 finish in the money ranking that would net her the coveted card for next year’s LPGA Tour.
