Japanese inks fastest time with imported car
MANILA, Philippines - Kunihiro Iwatsuki drove his GT 300 spec Evo 9 race car brought specially from Japan to register the fastest time of the day in the sixth leg of the 2015 GT Radial Flat Out Race Series at the Clark International Speedway in Clark, Pampanga recently.
The win came even as a sudden loss of power delayed the races and was restored with the help of a Red Bull Sugga event.
Bracket A was dominated by Nino Garcia n a JCT Racing Nissan GTR 35 in 2:06.942, with Rafael La’O second in 2:14.194 and JC Baguisa third in 2:14.880.
In Bracket B, Eduardo Suiza sneaked to the top with an almost perfect time of 2:16.035, followed by Sydney Blanche Sarmiento, a further 0.7 second behind and Vic Edillon (2:17.006).
The fight was equally close in Bracket C where only 0.3 second separated the top 3 competitors – Gabby Sohu from Baguio, Andrew de Asis and Michael Bryan Co of Team GT Radial.
Special classes were given to club regulars, with Michael Angelo Turing beating Mark Dexter Cando in the Grupo Toyota class.
