Ateneo, NU seek unbeaten run

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Ateneo and National University seek to remain unscathed as they take on struggling Far Eastern U and University of the Philippins, respectively, today at the start of the quarterfinals of the Spikers’ Turf Season 1-Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan City.

The Blue Eagles, the reigning UAAP champions, square off with the Tams in their 5 p.m. duel while the Bulldogs, the former UAAP titlists, tangle with the Maroons in the first game of an explosive triplebill at 1 p.m., both looking for victories and a continued share of the lead.

Emilio Aguinaldo College, the NCAA title-holder, battles St. Benilde at 3 p.m. in a re-match of last season’s NCAA finalists in the tournament presented by PLDT Home Ultera.

Games can be viewed live via streaming on www.v-league.ph, according to the organizing Sports Vision.

Ateneo and NU are toting identical 3-0 cards into the carryover quarters after sweeping their respective groups in the single round elims of the event backed by Mikasa.

Ateneo coach Oliver Almandro said the Eagles need to double their effort since he expects the field to step up big after the group matches.
