MANILA, Philippines – Knowing if Jo-Wilfreid Tsonga will be able go deeper in the Rogers Cup and defend his Men's Singles title or not will have to wait.
The match that features Tsonga and Philippine Mavericks teammate Borna Coric was postponed because of rain in Montreal, Canada.
The Frenchman was leading 2-1 in the first set when the match was called off, an Associated Press report indicated.
The two Mavericks are no stranger to each other as they have met eight times in their career.
Tsonga, who is 12 years older than Coric, leads the Croatian in their head-to-head wins. Of the eight times they faced off, the former has won five.
Tsonga is currently ranked 24th in the ATP World Tour rankings, while Coric is 36th.
