UST posts 3rd straight in Milcu tilt

MANILA, Philippines - University of Santo Tomas defeated Philadelphia High School, 80-42, to firm up its hold of the Group A lead in the Under-16 division of the Milcu Elite Showcase at the Philadelphia High School Gym in Quezon City last weekend.

John Bismark Lina scored 10 points, grabbed four rebounds, and made two blocks as he helped power the Tiger Cubs to their third straight victory in the tournament, now an associate member of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.

The Tiger Cubs also came away with a 76-17 rout over De La Salle Araneta-A with Neil Brian Cabili firing 12 points and making four steals as UST sustained its hot run in the tournament presented by Got Skills, Milcu, Slam Philippines, Gatorade, LGR x Titan Sportswear, and Coach Athletic Trainers’ Tape.

In other U-16 results, Andre Dadivas shot 26 points as Ateneo Bughaw Basketball outlasted University of the East, 89-85, to improve to 2-2 in Group B while handing the Junior Warriors their first loss.

Chiang Kai Shek College trounced National University, 55-35, to seize the lead in Group B with a 3-0 record, while AMA University downed Xavier School, 89-85, for its first win.

Adamson remained in first place in Group B of the U-25 division with a 63-52 victory over Polytechnic University of the Philippines. Michael Are fired 15 points for the Falcons, who hiked their record to 4-1.

Roger Domingo had 15 points as Far Eastern University beat Lyceum, 87-43, to even its record to 2-2 in Group B.
