MANILA, Philippines - Philippine Swimming League (PSL) standout Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh spearheaded the country’s 14-gold medal on Day 3 of the 2015 Singapore Invitational Swimming Championship being held at the Singapore Island Country Club (SICC).

Mojdeh, an Immaculate Heart of Mary College student, bagged three gold medals including two new records in the girls’ 8-9 years event. She timed one minute, 34.89 seconds to rule the 100m breaststroke and break the 1:35.47 old mark of Elizabeth Lee of Singapore in 2010.

Moments later, Mojdeh reigned supreme in the 50m butterfly with a time of 36.42 seconds, surpassing the seven-year 36.62 record of Natasha Ern of Germany. She also claimed the 200m individual medley gold medal in 2:55.28.

University of Santo Tomas tanker Sean Terence Zamora continued his impressive showing as he notched two records in the boys’ 14-15 class. He topped the 200m IM in 2:16.75, beating the 2:21.17 record of Asian Games gold medalist Joseph Schooling of Singapore, then clocked 55.78 seconds to beat the 56.31 old mark of Zhen Ren of China in 2008.

Female Swimmer of the Year Kyla Soguilon reigned supreme in the girls’ 10-11 100m freestyle (1:07.98), 50m butterfly (32.97) and 100m freestyle (1:07.98).

“Kyla was also terrific, breaking two records on Day 2 at the age of 11,” Papa said.

Joining the gold rush were Wissenheimer Academy tanker Marc Bryan Dula (boys’ 8-9 50m butterfly, 38.86), Aalia Jaire Espejo (girls’ 12-13 100m breaststroke, 1:31.16).
