MANILA, Philippines - Adamson and STI College-Balagtas beat separate rivals to gain a share of the lead in Group B’s Under-25 division of the Milcu Elite Showcase in two separate venues.
Kenmark Miranda shot 18 points and hauled down six rebounds as Adamson edged AMA University, 65-62, last Sunday at the Philadelphia High School in Quezon City.
Over at the Enderun Colleges Gym in Taguig City, STI-Balagtas leaned on Paulo Andres’ 17-point effort to outclass University of Santo Tomas’ juniors squad, 66-49.
Adamson and STI thus took the early lead in Group B with 2-1 slates in the tournament organized by Got Skills and backed by Milcu, Slam Philippines, Gatorade, LGR x Titan Sportswear and Coach Athletic Trainers’ Tape.
Meanwhile, Matt Salem scored 18 points and snared 10 rebounds as National University nipped Ateneo, 85-83. The Bulldogs also downed San Sebastian College side, 69-40, for a 2-1 win-loss slate in Group A.
In the Under-16 division, University of the East notched its third straight win in Group B as it trounced NU, 56-48 with Kobe Camarillo coming through with 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals for the Junior Warriors.
