Ringside ticket for richest fight being sold at P3.8M
MANILA, Philippines - Manny Pacquiao fell off his chair when told that ringside seats to his coming fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. are being sold at $87,500 or roughly P3.8 million – EACH.
It’s like they’re selling tickets to the moon.
“Nahulog ako sa eighty-seven thousand,” Pacquiao said during an interview with ABS-CBN, while motioning like he just fell off his chair.
“Wala pa nga tickets pamilya ko (My family don’t have tickets yet),” he added.
Tickets to the May 2 showdown between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are coming out any day from now.
Yet, there are those who say they already have some in their hands.
One of them, Precision Concierge of New York, which specializes in hospitality service, exotic car rental and ticket sales, has put a tag price on them.
According to entertainment portal TMZ, PCNY are selling ringside seats (sixth row) for $87,500 each.
The head of PCNY told TMZ they have 39 tickets on hand – and it goes all the way down from the upper level section to ringside.
Pacquiao wasn’t thinking about the tickets when he sparred eight rounds yesterday against two different partners. Then he did eight rounds with the mitts.
His trainer, Freddie Roach, said they have a good track of time, a month to the fight.
“We are ahead of schedule and working him hard. Mr. 47 and 1 doesn’t stand a chance on May 2,” said Roach.
Ringside seats have a face value of $7,500 and they’re now being sold for an absurd price. The cheapest tickets are for $1,500.
Just days after the fight was announced last Feb. 21, tickets were already on eBay.
A pair of tickets to the Floor A section, where Jack Nicholson may end up seated, are being sold for $113,435 or roughly P5 million.
Even the rich will think twice on this.
