MANILA, Philippines - Gerry’s Grill, a staunch supporter of college basketball, has extended its involvement to the PBA D-League, linking up with Cagayan Valley in the ongoing Foundation Cup.
“This is a dream come true for us,” said Gerry’s Grill co-owner Jerome Ngo during press launch at Gerry’s Plus at the UP Town Center along Katipunan Road in Quezon City last week.
“We see a great potential in this team. We love this team as it’s a fighting team,” said Ngo on their choice of Cagayan as partner in the D-League.
The Rising Suns fell short of their title bid in the Aspirants’ Cup, losing to the Hapee Fresh Fighters but are hopeful of their title chances in the Foundation Cup where they tote a 1-1 card in the early going of the elims.
Before its tie-up with Cagayan Valley, Gerry’s Grill, among the country’s leading food chains with outlets all over the country and even in the United States, Singapore and Qatar, has backed collegiate teams like the UST Tigers in the UAAP and the Arellano Chiefs in the NCAA.
