MANILA, Philippines -- Manny Pacquiao got a surprise pre-fight present from one of his favorite NBA players Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors on Friday (Saturday Manila time).
Curry sent a personalized autographed jersey and an Active Faith wristband to the WBO welterweight champion, who is in the midst of training for the mega-fight with undefeated American champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
Warriorsworld.net posted a video of Curry signing the jersey on their instagram and photos of Pacquiao receiving the package in his new home at Beverly Hills, California.
Pacquiao and Curry played hoops when the Filipino boxing champion was in the Bay Area to promote his last fight against Chris Algieri. The Golden State Warriors invited Pacquiao to shoot hoops in their team facility.
Both Pacquiao and Curry are active in their faith and superstars in their respective field.
Pacquiao, whose love for basketball is synonymous to his passion for boxing, is also a playing-coach in one of the two expansion teams in the PBA, the Kia Carnival.
With the Warriors expected to go deep in the playoffs, it is not yet sure whether Curry will watch the Pacquiao-Mayweather showdown live at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
