MANILA, Philippines - The 17th Head Graphene XT Junior Tennis Satellite Circuit got going in Davao City recently with a big field clashing for top honors and Philta ranking points at the Ecoland 1 and 2 Tennis Club.
Players from Isulan, Kidapawan City, Koronodal City, Digos City, Sta. Cruz, Panabo City, Tagum City, M’lang, Mati City, Kabacan and Davao City are fighting it out in the 10-unisex and the boys’ and girls’ 12-, 14-, 16- and 18-and-under categories.
“We are very excited as we kick off the circuit in Davao City together with Globe Telecom. The series of tournaments will run in Mindanao, Visayas and Luzon until June 7,” said Liza Tang-Yuquico, managing director of Head Philippines.
From Davao, the circuit goes to the Capitol Tennis Courts in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat for the second leg on March 16-20, then to Cagayan De Oro City on March 22-26, and to General Santos on March 28-April 1.
The Visayas swing begins in Dumaguete City on April 5-9, then to Bohol on April 11-15, Lapu-Lapu Cebu on April 17-21, Bacolod City on April 23-27, Iloilo City on April 29-May 3 and Kalibo on May 5-9.
The Luzon campaign starts in Naga, Bicolandia, simultaneous with the Kalibo Leg on May 5-9, while the Pampanga leg will be held on May 10-14, Olongapo May 15-19, Urdaneta May 20-24, Vigan May 25-29, Baguio City on May 30-June 3 and Manila on June 3-7.
