Liam Neeson to Pacquiao: 2 tickets buddy

AJ Bolando - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – “Taken” trilogy star Liam Neeson believes that Manny Pacquiao will emerge victorious against Floyd Mayweather Jr. when the two boxers square off this May at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Neeson, who narrated the documentary of Pacquiao's life, said that he wants the eight-division champion to scratch the immaculate 47-0-0 win-loss-draw record of the American fighter.

"I'm definitely in Manny's camp. I want him to beat this guy (Mayweather)," said Neeson in a report by Don Tagala of ABS-CBN News North America.

The renowned actor even compared the upcoming fight to the historic bout between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier that led to the third match in the Philippines entitled “Thrilla in Manila.”

"This could be (like) the Muhammad Ali-Joe Frazier fight of 1971.”

The 62-year-old actor took the opportunity to ask Pacquiao for spare tickets in what many believe as the richest boxing match in history.

"Two tickets, buddy, two tickets."

The request of Neeson is a long shot as Top Rank chief Bob Arum said in a report that there would be no free tickets this time as Mayweather's camp is in control.

Tickets in the match that took five years in the making will range from $1,000 to $5,000.
