Champ goes house-hunting; Floyd slow, can be hit – Manny
MANILA, Philippines - Going through tapes of Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s fights has more than convinced Manny Pacquiao he can handle the unbeaten American when they finally slug it out in a megabuck showdown on May 2 at the MGM Grand.
Pacquiao, according to Aquiles Zonio of Philboxing.com. has found chinks in Mayweather’s armor.
“During his fight with Marcos Maidana, I noticed his knees are no longer there. He could no longer run as fast and as quick as during his younger days. I know I can hit (him),” said Pacquiao.
On Monday, Pacquiao resumes his training, this time under Freddie Roach who was in Macau last week for the Zou Shiming fight.
On the other side, unconfirmed reports said Mayweather has been knocking down his sparring partners.
Another report said Mayweather went to a casino during a break in training.
Meanwhile, the Filipino icon took an early break in training over the weekend and spent some time shopping around for a new house.
A week after arriving in Los Angeles and spending much time training, Pacquiao did not report to the Wild Card Gym last Saturday.
Yesterday, he went out to check some real estate offers, one business related and the other to become his new residence in the US.
Pacquiao’s house in Larchmont Park is up for sale, and now he’s looking at a new property, a more luxurious one that’s reportedly worth $12 million.
His Forbes Park home back home is worth around $9 million.
GMA-7 went with Pacquiao as he toured the massive property that used to be occupied by superstar Jennifer Lopez.
It’s much bigger than the one he occupies right now, with a large swimming pool, an entertainment center and a living room that can fit a hundred guests.
Pacquiao loves to entertain people in his home, including relatives and friends and practically anybody who’s a friend of a friend.
The 36-year-old Pacquiao stands to earn at least $80 million for his clash with Mayweather in Las Vegas.
When all else comes in, especially his share in the pay-per-view sales, Pacquiao could be richer by a hundred million dollars.
There’s nothing his money can’t buy.
The GMA-7 report said Pacquiao was about to make a formal offer on the house even if his adviser, Mike Koncz, is not buying the idea.
