4:30 p.m. – Judiciary vs Malacañang
MANILA, Philippines - Judiciary and Malacañang clash tomorrow with no less than the first outright semis berth at stake even as Philippine National Police (PNP) shoots for its sixth win in the third UNTV Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Judiciary Magis and the Malacañang Patriots, both toting 6-1 marks, slug it out at 4:30 p.m. with both teams going for the key win for a sure spot in the Final Four.
The Patriots beat the defending champions Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Cavaliers, 79-76, while the Magis routed the Bureau of Fire Protection side, 104-81, the last time out.
Tipped to lead Malacañang are Andro Requez, Paul Anthony Yamamoto and John Jimenes while former PBA players Don Camaso and Ariel Capus will banner Judiciary’s bid.
Equally crucial is the 3 p.m. showdown between PNP and Senate – two teams still in contention for an outright semis berth with 5-1 and 5-2 records, respectively.
The Senate Defenders are coming off an inspiring 85-60 win over the BFP Firefighters, while the PNP Responders are gunning for their straight win since pulling off a stunning 87-84 win over the Magis.
