Toyota Vios Cup returns, pits around 40 drivers
MANILA, Philippines – Toyota Motor Philippines stages the second season of the Toyota Vios Cup, a larger edition that commences with the opener of a four-leg series on March 21 at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.
Around 40 drivers, including a number of celebrity bets, compete in this one-make race highlighting a full-day program that will also feature Drift King Keiici Tsuchiya performing a special drifting exhibition.
Derek Ramsay, Jasmine Curtis, Kylie Padilla and Joyce Pring are the new celebrity participants, joining returnees Rhian Ramos, DJ Sam YG, Jinno Rufino and Phoemela Baranda.
They will be driving with 32 registered drivers promising a true “waku-doki” experience. In Japanese, this is the feeling of anticipation and the adrenaline rush one gets while about to do something exciting.
In the list are Tonton Ramos, Pauland Dumlao, Steve Bicknell, Alexis Salvador, Kyle Reyes, Inaki Araneta, Andres Calma, Carlos Castaneda, Rudy Bunag, Basti Escalante, Luis Gono, Paul Ang, Robert Lilles, Charlie Cojuangco, Bryan Co, Carlos Loinaz, Ferdie Raquelsantos, Vic Buensuceso, Dominic Ochoa, Allan Uy, Jeje Villena, Juan Nolasco, Bombi Palilio, JV Ejercito, Mon Tanjuatco, Miguel Diaz, Bobby Domingo, Daniel Miranda, Sherwin Hing, Raymond Ronquillo, Miko Maristela and Tomohiro Iwamoto.
Dealer teams include TSF/Mekeni Racing, TAI/Alabang Motorsports, TOT, TNE, TBC/Barako Racing, TQA, TNE (Obengers), TAI and TBK.
The Vios Cup is a grassroots racing competition catering motorsports enthusiasts and just about anyone who enjoys the fun in driving.
The event, beginning at 10 a.m., is open to the public for free.
On race day, there will be a Vios Cup shuttle loop with pick-up points at the Mimosa Leisure Estate (Holiday Inn Clark).
The 2015 Vios Cup is held in partnership with Bridgestone and Rota, supported by Motul, TRD, Denso, Brembo, AVT, OMP and Tuason Racing.
