Report: Mayweather-Pacquiao venue sold out in 15 minutes

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Moments after Floyd Mayweather announced he’s fighting Manny Pacquiao on May 2, tickets to the super fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas have reportedly sold out.

According to a report by Martin Rogers of USA Today, the MGM Grand “appeared to have completely sold out within 15 minutes” after Mayweather’s social media announcement that the fight is a go.

Prices for a night of stay at the MGM Grand on May 1 and 2 reportedly rose to as high as $615, a few days ago when Mayweather was on the verge of announcing the fight.

The arena has a capacity of 16,800, but it’s possible that organizers will make configurations to accommodate more fans in the fight that’s expected to be the biggest in boxing history.
