Pacman visits poor; Floyd parties
MANILA, Philippines - As the world eagerly waits for the fight to happen, boxing superstars Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather moved around town doing what they love to do.
Pacquiao, a congressman, spent a day handing out cash assistance totaling close to P1 million to underprivileged students in Malapatan in Sarangani.
Receiving P2,000 educational assistance from the boxing icon were over 400 elementary and high school students, according to Team Pacquiao insider Aquiles Zonio.
Pacquiao’s wife, Jinkee, who is the vice governor of the province, joined the gift-giving.
Some college students received P5,000 each from Pacquiao, who promised to visit six other municipalities in the coming days.
Last Thursday, Pacquiao led the ground-breaking for his P295 million church facility in General Santos City.
Helping the poor is a common thing for Pacquiao, who has authored perhaps the greatest rags-to-riches story in sports.
Mayweather, meanwhile, turned to social media to invite everyone to a pre-Valentine party at 42 West along 42nd Street in New York.
