MANILA, Philippines -- Kobe Paras and the LA Cathedral Phantoms wrapped up the regular season with back-to-back wins to get some momentum heading into the playoffs.
After a 72-62 repeat win over Serra Garden Cavaliers earlier this week, the Phantoms whipped St. Bernard Vikings, 77-44, on Wednesday (Thursday Manila time) at their home court in the downtown Los Angeles.
It was only the Phantoms' second win in five home games this season.
Paras waxed hot early scoring seven in the opening quarter including a fastbreak dunk as LA Cathedral took an eight-point lead, 22-14. The 17-year old Filipino sensation finished with 15 points, six rebounds and one steal as the Phantoms finished the regular season with an overall 19-6 win-loss record.
The back-to-back wins came after the Pahantoms absorbed three straight losses to fellow playoff-bound teams.
