MANILA, Philippines - Hope Christian High School and Holy Family School of Quezon City logged their third straight wins to join three other undefeated teams at the helm of their respective groups in the 17-and-under Competitive Division of the Women’s Volleyball League at the Xavier School gym over the weekend.
HCHS swept La Consolacion College-Novaliches, 25-14, 25-18, to join idle King’s Montessori in the Group A lead of the premier division of the tournament organized by the BEST Center and sponsored by Milo. The BEST Center is a recipient of the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Hall of Fame award.
La Consolacion dropped to its third loss in four games.
Holy Family, meanwhile, crushed PWU-JASMS, 25-11, 25-11, to stay unscathed in the Group C lead. PWU-JASMS slipped to 1-3 (win-loss).
Others keeping their win run were idle Escuela de Sophia, which has a 4-0 record on top of Group B; and Colegio San Agustin-Makati, the Group D leader at 3-0.
CSA-Makati also leads Group D of the 17-and-under Developmental Division following its 25-8, 25-14 bashing of Philippine Women’s University High School (0-4). CSA now has six wins in as many games.
Also notching its sixth straight win without a defeat was Assumption College, which zapped St. Paul-Pasig B (2-3), 25-21, 25-10, for the Group B lead.
Staying unbeaten after five games in Group A was St. Scholastica’s College-A after its 25-8, 25-14, crushing of Australian International School, 0-5).
