MANILA, Philippines - The Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2015 rolls off on Feb. 25 with over 130 teams of engineering students from 17 countries all over Asia battling it out with their own original eco-friendly car inventions for the farthest distance travelled on the least amount of fuel.
Meanwhile, organizers said tickets to the week-long event at Rizal Park along Roxas Blvd. ending March 1 are free.
This marks the second straight year that the regional competition will be held in Manila since its inception in 2010. Over 1,000 foreign delegates and guests are expected to arrive with the event tipped to draw an estimated total of over 40,000 spectators.
The country will play host to the Shell Eco-marathon Asia until 2016.
