ABS-CBN to broadcast NBA All Star
MANILA, Philippines - ABS-CBN Sports+Action will telecast the NBA State Farm All-Star Saturday night on Sunday live at 9:30 a.m. with a slew of stars headlining the events that include the Foot Locker Three Point contest, Degree Shooting Stars, Taco Bell Skills Challenge, and the Sprite Slam Dunk at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
All-Star Saturday is all about the side events and this year’s edition is bannered by the Foot Locker Three-Point contest that will have an elite cast with all the A-List shooters of the league putting their names on the list. Eight of the NBA’s best snipers shall converge in Brooklyn guns loaded and ready to go firing.
The line-up for the shootout includes Marco Belinelli (SAS) as the defending champion with Kyle Korver (ATL), Stephen Curry (GSW), Klay Thompson (GSW), JJ Redick (LAC), James Harden (HOU), Kyrie Irving (CLE) and Wes Matthews (POR).
The Degree Shooting Stars will pit a team comprised of a current NBA star, a Legend and a WNBA player. Team Bosh (Chris Bosh, Dominique Wilkins, Swin Cash) will try to defend their crown against Team Curry (Stephen Curry, Dell Curry, Sue Bird), Team Westbrook (Russell Westbrook, Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway, Tamika Catchings), and Team Davis (Anthony Davis, Scottie Pippen, Elena Delle-Donne).
The Taco Bell Skills Challenge will feature a new format of a three-round, obstacle-course competition that tests the dribbling, passing, agility and shooting skills of a player. Clashing in the event are Trey Burke (UTA) will try to defend his crown against John Wall (WAS), Jimmy Butler (CHI), Kyle Lowry (TOR), Jeff Teague (ATL), Brandon Knight (MIL), Michael Carter-Williams (PHI), and Isaiah Thomas (PHX).
Last but not least, and probably what Filipino fans wait for the most, the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest. Zach LaVine (MIN), Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL), Victor Oladipo (ORL), and Mason Plumlee (BKN) will try to wow the crowd with their serious hops and rim rockers.
