MANILA, Philippines - All of the country’s top jins who are seeking slots on the national team will show their wares in the SMART/MVP Sports Foundation/PLDT Home Bro National CPJ (Carlos Palanca Jr.) taekwondo championships for sparring (kyorugi) and poomsae (forms) on Feb. 7-8 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Among the jins to watch in kyorugi are Francis Aaron Agojo, Ronna Ilao, Mary Anjelay Pelaez and Benjamin Keith Sembrano.
Around 1,000 jins are expected to vie for honors in kyorugi and poomsae. Kyorugi competition will be held in the senior (18 years old and above), junior (15-17 years old), Cadet (12-14 years old) and grade school (11 and below), while poomsae action will be divided into three groups – individual, team and pair with 13 categories.
The categories are Cadet (12-14 years old), junior (15-17), 1st senior 1-A (18-24), senior 1-B (25-30), senior 2 (31-40), Master (41 and above), Cadet Pair, Junior Pair, Senior Pair, Cadet Team, Junior Team, 1st team and 2nd team.
