MANILA, Philippines - Gerry Ramos’ AAO Hyper B-12 bested a tough field of 379 and scored 7.5 points to emerge solo champion in the 2015 World Clasher 8-cock invitational derby at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last Sunday.
AAO Hyper B-12 gained its second wind and momentum to defeat Mahakam Synergy-III in the grand finals, enabling Ramos’ ace rooster, in partnership with Noel Jarin, to clinch the solo championship.
“I can’t believe this. I thank everyone who has supported me in this entry and believed that I will win this championship,” said Ramos.
Earlier, four bets with seven points each slugged it out with Art & Procy of Arthur Alonzo beating Itoy Sison, Ricky Magtuto and Willard Ty’s JVS Ahluck Camsur-2.
Rep. Patrick Antonio, who fielded more than 20 entries, had four entries with four wins each in the finals. However, only one of his entries, National Barkadahan Sagupaan-2, remained steady with seven points until the day’s Fight No. 51 when the 2-3 favorite’s white fighter succumbed to Ben Mondragon’s Ben M while Gov. Claude Bautista’s bet beat dark horse Fa Fa Fa of Joseph Marigundon and Femie Medina.
