Joey Villar - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -- Joe Abunassar, IMPACT Basketball's founder that trained top NBA players incuding Kevin Garnett, DeMarcus Cousins, Kyle Lowry, Paul Pierce and Kevin Love among others, is in the country for a two-day camp at the Roosevelt Park Gym in Greenhills, San Juan.

The camp started Saturday and will continue Sunday, bringing to the Philippines the most sought after basketball training and player development program using a unique approach of developing the complete player and even teams.

Two of the beneficiary of IMPACT were the Ateneo Eagles, former UAAP five-peat champions, and the San Beda Lions, the reigning five-peat NCAA title-holders.

"Ateneo and San Beda are both regulars, they visited us in the US every year and we're proud of what the two schools have accomplished," said Abunassar in yesterday's camp that was done in partnership with local-based Global Link Travel and Tours.

"It's nice to have two of the Philippines' top collegiate programs trust us. We're proud of them as we're proud of the NBA players who trained for us," he added.

Abunassar was particularly impressed with Ateneo's Kiefer Ravena.

"I love his competitiveness," he said of Ravena.

Abunassar's IMPACT system has changed the way the NBA's bestplayers train and offers his dynamic and scientific program to players who seek to maximize their potential and reach their high school, collegiate and professional goals.
And IMPACT has a long list of players who succeeded in the NBA.

Aside from Love, Garnett, Cousins, Lowry and Pierce, prominent names like John Wall, Tayshaun Prince, Chauncey Billups, Serge Ibaka, Rudy Gay, Ricky Rubio, Kawhi Leonard, Elton Brand, Tyson Chandler, Jeremy Lin, Brandon Davis, Dwight Howard, Joakim Noah, Andrei Kirilenko, Ron Artest, JR Smith and Danny Granger.
Yesterday, IMPACT and Global Link also forged a partnership as the latter will be the former's local arm.

Global link said basketball players interested in training with IMPACT, they will need to shell out 3,980 US dollars which includes airfare, 10 days of basketball training and a 14-night hotel accomodation.
