MANILA, Philippines - The Ronda Pilipinas 2015 presented by LBC will embark on a massive talent search as it tries to tap young riders and develop them in the mold of veteran Reimon Lapaza and Mark Galedo for future international competitions.
Ronda Pilipinas executive project director Moe Chulani said they hope that the annual LBC-race, which is also supported by major sponsor MVP Sports Foundation, will also give local cyclists a chance to earn a living and be a part of the national team.
After four editions, most, if not all, of the members of the current national team including Galedo, Ronald Oranza, Rustom Lim and George Oconer have competed in Ronda, the biggest and richest cycling race in the Philippines and Asia sanctioned by PhilCycling.
“We want Ronda to be a vehicle for our Filipino cyclists especially the young and talented ones while giving them a chance to make a living,” said Chulani. “But of course, the main goal is to help the country harness these young talents and train them to be world-class international competitors.”
