9 share lead in NCA world derby
MANILA, Philippines - Nine entries posted two points each as they shared the opening day honors in the NCA World Championship Derby at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City last Tuesday.
Gov. Claude Bautista’s CBP Benhur, AA Jade Resort EP of Arman Santos and Atong Ang’s AA Cobra swept their first two matches to show the way with AG Polo Bailey of AG Polo, Sanleo of Elan Nagano, Karambola/Fire Blade of MPV, Makati Cockers Club Jan.22 6-Cock of Osang Dela Cruz, GQ Makati Coliseum of Osang Dela Cruz, and Gov. Ito Ynares’ Binangonan.
JM Binangonan of Nad Mendoza and Tiffany Jan. 31 of Teves scored 1.5 points apiece to stay in the title hunt in the event long considered as the Olympics of cockfighting.
Meanwhile, the elims will end on Jan. 17 with the finals set Jan. 20.
The event, sponsored by Sagupaan Complexor, also drew the participation of top American breeders Dan Grey, Oscar Akins, Roger Robert, Tom Wilson and Larry Whitehead.
