4 p.m. – Bread Story/LPU vs MP Hotel
MANILA, Philippines - Hapee tries to shake off the rust of a 10-day rest as it tangles with Jumbo Plastic at resumption of the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup today, looking for win No. 10 and some momentum heading to its keenly-awaited showdown with fellow unbeaten Cagayan Valley next week.
The well-rested Fresh Fighters test the mettle of the Giants at 2 p.m. at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao, confident of getting past their rivals also out to nail the all-important win to boost its 6-3 card.
With 9-0 slates, Hapee and Cagayan Valley have clinched the two outright semifinal berths. But Hapee coach Ronnie Magsanoc has constantly urged his troops to stay focused and continue to play at high level.
“Instead of thinking that we’re playing a non-bearing game, we must always find ways to get better. We always want them (Fresh Fighters) to feel the pressure for them to be able to handle pressure when the tournament goes deep,” Magsanoc said.
The Fresh Fighters should easily dominate the Giants with big men Ola Adeogun and Arnold Van Opstal back from their holiday vacations.
“We are hoping for a good outcome (against Jumbo Plastic) so we can get some momentum heading to the Cagayan battle,” Magsanoc said.
