Top breeders clash in NCA world derby
MANILA, Philippines - Top local and foreign cockers brace for a battle royale as they vie in the NCA World Championship Derby which unfolds Jan. 13 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Leading American breeders Dan Grey, Oscar Akins Robert, Tom Wilson and Larry Whitehead have confirmed their participation in the three-day event, long considered as the Olympics of cockfighting, which will be held on Jan. 15 and 17.
But the local cockers are expected to field in their top entries, including Cesar Dy, Ricky Magtoto, James Uy, Gerry Fevidal, Nestor Gualberto, Romy Lim, Ray Tambis, Toto Sevilla, JR Tolentino, Jomar Hizon, Bobby Mailig, Alex Escalona, Jun Diamante, Efren Canlas, RJ Mejia, Sonny Lagon and Claude Bautista.
Others showing up with their aces are Ricky Valencia, Bong Pineda, Mayor Goto, Henry Tan, Fiscal Villanueva, Elyong Hernandez, Jun Velasco and Rene Adao, Atong Ang, Barkadan ng Binangonan, Gerry Ramos, Gov. Plaza, Tokwing, Engr. Marfori, Vice Mayor Joar Bautista, Atty. Sevilleja, Atty. Salazar, Edwin Tose, Tady Palma, Dennis Del Rosario, Arman Santos, Allan Tan and Mayor Goto.
