Surigao bags two Fil-Am titles

MANILA, Philippines - Team Surigao bested a tough field and bagged two division crowns in the 63rd Fil-Am Invitational golf tournament in Baguio City recently.

Team Surigao’s Ed Isidoro, Phillip Natividad, Benny Hurtado and Ariel Javelosa, dominated the field and ruled the Fil-D class, while Jomar Espanola, Ely Polinag, Nong Madrid, Ed Brocal and Orly Mabutas topped the Am-E category to complete the romp for the team of former Rep. Robert “Ace” Barbers.

On the other hand, A-1 Driving School owner Nestor Garcia helped power Team Surigao to a second runner-up finish in the Am-D. With him are Elmer Soria, Roger Nacino, Banjo Navarro and Rene Estepa.

Other members of the Barbers-led Team Surigao were Bing Alcantara, Ed Lopez, Gerald Aycardo, Jeff Ong, Ed Lopez, Ernesto Lim, Don Petil, Robert Soriano and Hebert Magsino.
