Caballejo, Abanto top Tanduay beach volley

MANILA, Philippines - Judy Ann Caballejo and Anna Camille Abanto bested a star-studded field to rule the third leg of the Tanduay Light Women’s Beach Volleyball Challenge at the sand court of the Cantada Sports Center in Bagumbayan, Taguig City last Sunday.

Caballejo and Abanto recovered from a second set defeat to frustrate Dzi Gervacio and Bea Tan, 21-14, 18-21, 15-10, in the championship.

Jonafer San Pedro and Priscilla Catacutan of RTU downed Beauty Denila and Gena Andaya for third place via the quotient system.

The event, backed by Tanduay Rhum, Mapecon and Toyota Balintawak, drew a slew of ace players, including the tandem of former Ateneo stalwarts Fille Cainglet Cayetano and Gretchen Ho.
