Emperador-Real Madrid tieup to boost Phl football

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Emperador, Inc., the world’s largest brandy company, has partnered with Spain’s renowned professional football club, Real Madrid C.F. for a series of football clinics aimed at further boosting the sport in the country.

Real Madrid, known for producing some of the world’s best players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, has been conducting football clinics among children and the youth to promote the sport. Next year, Real Madrid will hold its first-ever sports clinic in the country at the Emperador Stadium in McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio.

The Filipino-owned brandy company, through its subsidiary Grupo Emperador Spain S.A., is heavily investing in Spain as it continues its drive to attract a larger market in Europe, North America, the Philippines and next year, in Vietnam. It has the biggest vineyard all over Europe with an estimated aggregate of 1,000 hectares in Spain.

Recently, the Spanish government, led by President of the government of Castilla-La Mancha, Maria Dolores de Cospedal, hailed Emperador for its unwavering efforts to pioneer the major modernization of its vineyard in Toledo, Spain, which can help boost grape production and generate more employment in the region.
