Pacquiao responds to Floyd taunt: Fight me now

MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao just repeated his challenge to Floyd Mayweather that they get up in the ring and fight in reaction to the American champ’s latest potshot on him via social media.

“And so he thinks I’m easy to be knocked out. So come on let’s fight,” said Pacquiao during the brief press conference at the Hotel InterContinental at the end of the victory parade given him by the city of Makati Thursday.

“If he posted that in his Instagram, he should fight me now,” Pacquiao insisted. “Madali pala akong patulugin eh, laban na siya.”

Their sparring on social media continued with Mayweather posting an Instagram video of Pacquiao being knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez.

Played over the video is “Another One Bites the Dust” by Queen.

On Sunday after disposing of Chris Algieri, Pacquiao reenacted his popular Footlocker commercial when asked about fighting Mayweather.

“He’s going to fight me? Yes! He’s going to fight me!” said Pacquiao then.

Fight fans all over the world can’t wait for that fight to happen.

On whether he’s running for a higher position in 2016, Pacquiao said it’s early to think about it.

“As of now, I’m focused as a congressman, a boxer and a family man,” said the Sarangani congressman.

“Dadating ang tamang panahon. Ang tamang panahon ay right time. Malayo pa yon,” he added.

Now a member of the UNA party, Pacquiao is expected to be drafted to the senatorial slate of Vice President Jejomar Binay in the 2016 national elections.

Pacquiao braved the rains as he’s given a victory parade by the city of Makati from the Makati City Hall to Hotel InterContinental yesterday morning.

Motorists and people along avenues negotiated by the convoy warmly welcomed the Filipino boxing champ.

"Maraming salamat sa mainit na pagsalubong. Ang karangalan ko ay karangalan ng buong bansa," Pacquiao said later.

"It's a great privilege for the people of Makati to be with congressman Pacquiao. The whole country is celebrating his latest victory," said Binay.
