MACAU – Manny Pacquiao is that you?
An undefeated Thai boxer is getting attention here because of his striking resemblance to the eight-division champion.
From the beard to his fighting style, many will get confused when they see Kwanpichit Onesongchaigym for the first time.
During the roundtable session with the media at The Venetian Macao here Thursday, the 33-year-old boxer admitted that he really tries to imitate his “great idol.”
“Manny is my favorite fighter so I try to look the same," said Kwanpichit with the help of an interpreter. "I try to imitate the way he fights, the way he looks."
Last night during the press conference, the two boxers met on stage and Kwanpichit had a photo opportunity.
“I am honored that I met him (Pacquiao), more when he realized that we look the same,” added Kwanpichit, who holds a perfect record of 27 wins with 12 knockouts.
But aside from his recognizable appearance, the Buriram, Thailand native is ready to flaunt his skills on Sunday as he takes on two-time Olympic gold medalist Zou Shiming in the undercard of Pacquiao- Chris Algieri bout.
