Fearless Kiefer sinks game-winner to steal show from Iverson

MANILA, Philippines -- UAAP MVP Kiefer Ravena stole the limelight from Allen Iverson and the visiting BallUp streetballers as he came up with the big shot in the endgame to lead Team PCWorx to a 98-96 stunner on Wednesday night in the All In Charity Game at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Ravena capped off his 16-point performance eluding past two defenders before dropping the game winning layup that sweetly kissed off the glass in the final 1.3 seconds.

"Tabla-panalo naman eh so wala na yung fear mo and I'm surrounded by good players kaya it's great playing in these kind of games," Ravena told Philstar.com on his game-winning play. 

Former Barako Bull import set up Ravena's heroics with a three-pointer in the last 36 seconds to tie the game at 96-all.

After BallUp missed its next offensive play, Ravena milked the clock then made his move as the time went down to the final 10 seconds. Two defenders tried to bottle him up but Ravena's hesitation drive shook them off to free up for the game-winning play.

"We took this game seriously. Sabi nga ni coach Tim (Cone) we have the chance to win (the game) so we just took the opportunity," Ravena said.

Iverson, his team and all of the estimated 5,000 crowd were up on their feet in the riveting final minute of the exhibition game that was expected to be dominated by the visiting BallUp team mixed with former PBA players Jerry Codinera, Willie Miller and Renren Ritualo.

They led by as much as 15, 40-25, but Cone and his team composed of the top collegiate stars came back in the second half with a resolute defense.

BallUp had a chance to steal the win but Mr. Afrika's three-point attempt rimmed out at the buzzer.

Ravena added five assists and two rebounds while Johnson led them with a game-high 24 points and 10 rebounds.

Bone Collector had 20 points while G Smith who regaled the crowd early in the game with his acrobatic dunks finished with 19.
