FEU alumni hold charity badminton

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Alumni of the Far Eastern University (FEU) badminton team and the local badminton community are staging a charity tournament to help raise funds for the ongoing medical treatment of former national team player and FEU standout Christopher “Toper” Flores.

The benefit tournament is slated Nov. 16 at the Valencia Badminton Sports Center, Gilmore, Quezon City.

Flores, 29, was recently diagnosed with myxiod liposarcoma, a rare type of cancer, while on badminton coaching duties in Chicago, Illinois where he has been based. He recently underwent surgery with the help of kababayans in the US, but still needs further treatment and medical care.

Friends and former teammates from the FEU Varsity Badminton team organized the fundraising event to help Flores and his family with the medical costs for his treatment.
