Rivera chosen Phl bet to FIA event
MANILA, Philippines - Milo Rivera, a 19-year-old mechanical engineering student of De La Salle University, has been selected by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) to represent the Philippines in the ongoing the 2014 Asia Pacific Selection Event of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Institute Young Driver Excellence Academy at the Federation of Automobile Sports of China training base in Beijing, China.
The 2014 FIA Academy–Asia Pacific selection event is fully funded by the FIA Foundation and managed by the FIA Institute as part of the Motor Sport Safety Development Fund’s young driver safety program.
This qualification event will assess the best young race car drivers around the Asia Pacific region based on their driving ability, physical fitness, psychological strength and consistency, professionalism, character and media skills – the core components that make up a world-class race car driver.
Rivera, who is backed by Motul, Bosch Automotive and Bosch Power Tools, is a karting, circuit and slalom champion rolled into one.
The winner of this selection process will take part in the 2015 FIA Young Drivers’ Excellence Academy, a one-year motorsports academy and assessment program held all over Europe, where some world motorsports teams will also be scouting for talent.
