MANILA, Philippines - PLDT Home Telpad and Far Eastern U try to finish off Meralco and Rizal Technological U today as they shoot for third place honors in their respective divisions in the Shakey’s V-League Season 11 Third Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
The Turbo Boosters pulled off a come-from-behind 25-21, 21-25, 20-25, 25-20, 15-11 victory over the Power Spikers last Tuesday to gain the head-start in their best-of-three series in women’s play of the season-ending conference of the league sponsored by Shakey’s.
PLDT Home Telpad, led by Gretchel Soltones, Sue Roces and Angela Benting, has beaten Meralco thrice in the conference and is tipped to score a repeat in their 4 p.m. clash.
The Tams have also dominated the Blue Thunder in their three meetings with the former also expected to go all out to wrap up their own best-of-three series for third in the inaugural men’s division of the league backed by Mikasa and Accel.
FEU tripped RTU, 30-28, 21-25, 25-16, 25-23, in Game One behind Joshua Barrica, Greg Dolor, Jeric Gacutan, Lucky Margate and Franco Camcam, who are raring to re-impose their will and strength again in their 2 p.m. duel.

Meanwhile, Cagayan Valley and Army resume their duel this Sunday with the Rising Suns out to duplicate their four-set victory over the Lady Troopers in the opener of their own best-of-three play for the crown last Sunday.
But focus will be on the chase for third place with Meralco and RTU both itching to finally get back at their tormentors and force a playoff in their respective divisions.
Thai import Wanida Kotruang and Japanese setter Misao Tanyama seek to redeem themselves and lead Meralco to a win and a crack at third along with Abby Marano, who turned in an impressive 20-hit output last Tuesday, Stephanie Mercado and Maureen Ouano.
