San Andres shows who’s who in moto

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Kawasaki-JBS Racing Team’s Kenneth San Andres left no doubts as to who is the country’s No. 1 motocross rider as he secured another twin-kill in Round 7 of the 2014 NAMSSA National Motocross Development Program recently at the Speedworld MX Circuit, SM Bicutan.

The many-time Philippine Sportswriters Association awardee for motocross ruled both the premier Pro Open and Pro 125 categories of the event held under the auspices of the National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association.

San Andres topped the premier Pro Open, beating Jerrick Mitra (runner-up) and Moymoy Flores, before returning in the afternoon to repeat the same domination in the Pro 125, fending off the challenge of Mitra.

He has virtually wrapped up another National Rider of the Year title as he leads both the Pro Open and Pro 125 divisions by a mile.

“It’s not just another day at the racetrack,” said San Andres, the reigning NAMSSA Rider of the Year. “The field is getting stronger and I have to be on my toes all the time.”

Backed by Kawasaki, Motul Philippines, Oakley, Fox Racing, GoPro, Leatt neck brace, Pro Taper, Bell Helmet, Bridgestone Tires, Polisport, Foilacar Manila, Kia Global, Laus Auto Group, R33 Car Exchange, Xotics Carswash, Halrey, GCG Pipe, JBS Motorcycle Parts, JM Stickers, Troylee Design at Specialized and general manager Mark Lapid, the youthful rider is also coming off a sweep of both the Pro Open and Pro 125 categories of the national series’ sixth round.

“In a series as competitive as this one, you must never lose your focus to keep your edge,“ said San Andres. “One wrong move and the field will take advantage.”
