Que trails leader by two
MANILA, Philippines - Angelo Que turned in perhaps his strongest start in a major tournament, firing a five-under 67 to lurk just two strokes behind Swede Rikard Karlberg after 18 holes of the US$7 million CIMB Classic at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club in Malaysia yesterday.
Que, staying in top form following a runner-up finish in the Hong Kong Open two weeks ago, came out of the pack in blistering pace, gunning down six birdies against a bogey in the first nine hole en route to a 31-36 card and joining Americans Bill Hurley III and Brian Stuard at second behind the equally hot-starting Karlberg, who also sizzled with five birdies at the front then added two more at the back for a bogey-free 65.
“I think I’m just doing things right which is trusting myself. Previously, every time I’m teeing it up, I’m still debating what to do, what kind of shot I’m going to hit,” said Que, also trying to end a win-less season.
