ATAT Club: Good riders train off-track

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Riding the motorcycle is something common for Filipinos nowadays, either as a means of transportation, a hobby, or sport.

It is actually one of the most popular sports in the country especially with the good models of motorcycles coming out each year.

Recently, the "Any Time All The Time" or more popularly called ATAT Motorcycle Club held a victory party after dominating the recently concluded Philippine National Superbikes Championship held at the Clark International Speedway.

During the short program, club treasurer Jay Carreon shared a few tips on what the riders of their club do to train for a race.

“If you want to see what ATAT really is go to Ultra at 5:30 in the morning, Tuesday and Thursday,” he said, talking about their training. “You'll see ATAT running. Aside from that we're also doing TRX, we bike. We don't practice on the track."

“There are things you should remember in riding a motorcycle, number one, the secret is your core, your balance. The next is endurance. If you want to be a good rider, you should have to hit the track without falling. So we want to be like that, so to do that we train. You work hard for it.”

Ducati Philippines General Manager and ATAT MC former president Mar de Joya said that these trainings also help the club members to build camaraderie which is essential to make a club stronger.

Charlie Carlos, president of the ATAT Racing Team, said that ATAT plans to “recruit members para maging strong 'yong club. Kasi to make the club stronger kailangan ng members na mas kukumpleto at bubuo sa grupo. So 'yong plano namin gawin para maging strong talaga 'yong grupo.”
