AKCUPI to stage thanksgiving shows

MANILA, Philippines - As its gesture of gratitude to dog lovers who have been supporting the Asian Kennel Club Union of the Philippines (AKCUPI) for the past six years, the club will mount three thanksgiving shows Sunday at the Pet Village of Tiendesitas.

To be bannered by the 62nd, 63rd and 64th All-Breed Championship Dog Shows, the events will also be highlighted by the pre-Halloween Dog Fashion Show and Free Anti-Rabies Vaccination courtesy of the pet bureau.

The dog shows will be adjudicated by international all-breed judges Jester Jo Ong Chuan (president of the American Cocker Spaniel Club of the Philippines and Metro Manila Kennel Club, Inc), Mike Buenaflor (shelter manager and disaster rescue officer for the Network for Animals, an animal welfare group based in the UK) and ACSCP founder Joseph Ong Chuan.

The judges will have their own set of winners in the Best Baby Puppy, Best Philippine-born and Best in Show categories from seven breed groupings – toy, sporting, hound, terrier, non-sporting, working and herding.
