Stallions oust CEU five from NCBL semis race

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Trinity University of Asia held off Centro Escolar University, 49-45, to boot out the NAASCU champions from the semifinal race while Enderun College rolled past winless AIE-College from Angeles City, 70-31, to advance to the next round of the NCBL at the Enderun College gym at Bonifacio Global City last weekend.

It was the TUA Stallions’ eighth victory against two setbacks as they emerged the No. 1 team at the close of the elims while the Enderun Titans closed out with a 5-5 record for fourth, edging CEU, which finished with a 4-6 card, for the last semis berth.

The Stallions face the Titans in the first semis game at 1 p.m. today at the Technological Institute of the Philippines gym in Manila.

Title holder TIP got back at Diliman College, formerly Diliman Computer Technology Institute, 81-64, to arrange a semis duel with the DC Blue Dragons at 2:30 p.m. with the winners clashing for the crown on Friday.

The champion team will also earn a slot in the NCR qualifying tournament of the Philippine Collegiate Championship League.

The tournament is backed this year by Hoop It Up, Zic Oil Lubricants and Athletes-In-Action with Manila Standard-Today as media partner.
