LeBron: 'Nowhere near' decision on 2016 Olympics

The Philippine Star

CLEVELAND — LeBron James doesn't know whether he'll take another shot at Olympic gold.

James said Monday he has not yet decided whether he'll play for Team USA at the 2016 Olympics in Brazil, where could win a third straight gold medal.

Following Cleveland's third training camp practice, James was asked about his plans for the Rio Games following reports that Oklahoma City superstar Kevin Durant has committed to playing for the American team again.

"I'm nowhere near there," James said. "I haven't even thought about it too much. Obviously I know what's going on and what's happening. I haven't decided."

The 29-year-old James has played on three U.S. Olympic teams. He won a bronze medal in 2004 at the Athens Games before winning golds in 2008 at Beijing and 2012 at London.

James did not play for Team USA this summer. He wanted some time off and had another big decision to make, re-signing with the Cavaliers.

He will likely face more questions about his plans for two summers from now later this month when the Cavs play an exhibition in Rio de Janiero against the Miami Heat, James' former team.
