MANILA, Philippines - Philippine Army, riding the crest of its Open Conference victory over Cagayan Valley in the Open Conference, sets out for another championship as it heads the field in the Shakey’s V-League Third Conference set to unfold Oct. 5 at The Arena in San Juan City.
The Lady Troopers are expected to come in full force in the upcoming tournament, to be led again by Finals MVP Jovelyn Gonzaga, Rachel Ann Daquis and former league MVPs Nerissa Bautista and MJ Balse, as they brace for a tough campaign against a highly formidable field out to foil their back-to-back title bid.
For one, the Rising Suns are raring to get back at their tormentor on a team built around Aiza Maizo, Angeli Tabaquero, Rosemarie Vargas, Janine Marciano and Pau Soriano.
Meralco has also confirmed participation in the tournament to be launched in elaborate rites at the PSA Forum tomorrow while PLDT Home Telpad, which placed third in its Shakey’s V-League Open debut, is expected to follow suit.
The organizing Sports Vision also said a big announcement will be made in line with the staging of the Third Conference that will spice up the season-ending conference of the league sponsored by Shakey’s and backed by Mikasa and Accel.
