Sea Lions roll to UCAA semis

MANILA, Philippines - Olivarez College blasted Manuel L. Quezon University, 70-50, to roll into the semifinal round of the 13th Universities and Colleges Athletic Association (UCAA) men’s basketball tournament at the Trinity University of Asia gym in Quezon City last Thursday.

Marvi Bustos fired a game-high 13 points while Bermudes Pruvil and Mark Ollano pumped in 11 points apiece as the Sea Lions topped the two-round elims with an 8-2 card.

Olivarez actually came into the game reeling from a 76-83 loss to Philippine School of Business Administration last Tuesday but vented its ire on MLQU to advance to the next round.

Meanwhile, PSBA trounced Philippine Nautical and Technical College, 80-69, with Aries Dionisio shooting 20 points after pouring in 37 markers against PNTC.

The Jaguars wound up the elims with a 6-4 mark.
