INCHEON, South Korea – Jean Claude Saclag failed to gift himself and the Philippines a gold medal on the eve of his 20th birthday, losing to China's Kong Hongxing in two rounds in the finals of the Men's Sanda -60kg in Wushu at the Ganghwa Dolmens Gymnasium here Wednesday.
Saclag valiantly fought but the Chinese champion remained unblemished, not losing single round in this Asian Games using effective counter-attacks.
Hongxing dropped Saclag in the second round, clearly winning the gold medal bout.
Saclag settled for second place, hiking Phl's medal tally to two silvers and one bronze, all courtesy of Wushu.
